Beyond the Assegai: the Real Reason the Zulu Army Was Feared Across Africa

The Zulu people are one of the most iconic and historically significant cultures on the African continent — and their warrior tradition is one of the most sophisticated military cultures ever developed in human history.

In this documentary, we explore the complete cultural world of the Zulu warrior: the initiation rites that forged boys into soldiers, the distinctive weapons and battle tactics that terrified the British Empire, the spiritual beliefs that made Zulu warriors fearless in battle, and the code of honour that governed their conduct in war and peace.
